About the wine:
Our first fortified Gewurztraminer! Enticing aromas of Fig, almond, caramel, marmalade, and manuka honey jump from the glass. It smells like it will be sweeter than it is as the palate is very well balanced mirroring the aromas but also with subtle hints of walnuts, caramel, and crème brûlée. Enjoy this after dinner on its own or with apple pie, sticky toffee pudding, plain biscotti, Mel's mom's pumpkin spice bars with brown butter icing, or drizzled over vanilla ice cream.
About the label:
Our Headwind label was crafted to honor Joel's father who passed away shortly before harvest in 2023. Jimmy loved sweeter wines - Joel can remember his dad's favorite wine growing up was Cherry Jack. A picture of Jim was fed into the AI image generator, along with a picture of his dog Dash that passed away months afterward. Jim's favorite thing in life was motorcycles, especially Harley's, so there was no question in our mind as to what the setting would be. We hope Jim is up in heaven enjoying a glass of Headwind with Dash and riding a Harley!

Fermented on Pinot Gris skins. Aged 10 months in neutral oak.
