New for 2024: Our wood fired pizza oven!

Char is the newest pizzeria on the Naramata Bench and the only one offering authentic Neapolitan style pizza prepared in a wood fired oven. Our dough is handmade daily, using OO Italian flour and fermented 24-48 hours to provide flavour and help with digestibility for those who may be sensitive to gluten. Look for an unparalleled texture that is both soft and crunchy – at the same time! Our meats and cheeses are sourced from Italy each week ensuring freshness and superb quality. Later in summer, we plan to include fresh vegetables and herbs grown locally as we want to support our local farmers and create pizzas with the best possible products.

Pizzas are approximately 12″, with prices generally ranging from $19-21. Our wine club receives an allotment of free pizzas and then 20% off additional pizzas. Sorry, we do not take orders for takeout pizza, and we are unable to accommodate specific dietary requests such as dairy free or gluten free. See below for a sample of some of the pizzas we offer.

Tomato Sauce Pizzas

Our tomato sauce is made daily with a simple recipe of Italian San Marzano tomatoes, olive oil and salt. No other seasonings are added as we want the beauty of the tomatoes to shine through.

  • Mel Needs a Margherita: A classic Margherita pizza: tomato sauce, fresh buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil, Parmesan cheese

  • The “JT Miller”: A pizza with a kick to it, much like its namesake: Tomato sauce, artichoke hearts, oven roasted tomatoes, olives, mozzarella, Swiss Gruyere, Parmesan cheese, Calabrese salami

Tomato Sauce Pizzas

Our cream sauce is made daily with a simple recipe of reduced heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. The sauce is lightly applied to each of these pizzas.

  • Joel is a “Fun-gi”: Our signature pizza which is an absolute mushroom bomb: Parmesan cream sauce, powdered dried mushroom blend, oven roasted mushrooms, mozzarella, truffle parmesan dusting
  • Mushroom Salami: Our signature pizza with the addition of Italian Salami: Parmesan cream sauce, powdered dried mushroom blend, oven roasted mushrooms, mozzarella, salami, truffle parmesan dusting
  • Heritage (Deconstructed Perogy): Creamy dill sauce, sliced potato, mozzarella cheese, Shinkenspeck ham, fresh dill
